About this book

Like all moles, Mike lives underground in a tunnel he digs with his big front paws. And like all moles, he is supposed to eat worms. Big fat juicy wriggly earthworms. There is just one problem: Mike really, really does not like them.

One fine spring morning Mike pushes his head up into the daylight and meets Ralph, a robin who cannot believe his ears. With help from Ralph and a rabbit called Ronald, Mike sets out to discover what a mole who will not eat worms could possibly eat instead, and finds an answer growing right above his head.

A gentle, funny read-aloud story about a fussy little mole and the adventure that helps him find his place underground. Soft watercolour illustrations on every page. Part of the David Binelli Nature Tales series.

Who it is for

Children aged 5 to 9, and any fussy eater who has ever been told to just try it. A funny, gentle story about being different and finding your own way, with soft watercolour art on every spread.
