Volume Two is a different world from Volume One. Where the first book is gentle and decorative, this one tells stories. Every page has a character in it and something happening, drawn in soft graphite with the Victorian gothic detail of lace, ironwork, oil lamps and worn stone.
These are grayscale designs. The shading is already done. You lay your colour over the top and the greys underneath do the hard work, so a finished page looks rich and dimensional with far less effort than flat line art.
Fifty detailed scenes, every one different: characters, interiors, foggy exteriors and still lifes, so the pages never repeat themselves. Single-sided printing with a blank page behind every design, a colour test page with a printed grey band in every swatch box, large 8.5 x 11 in pages, generous margins and no solid black areas.
