Santa fills the stockings by the fire and climbs back up the chimney. His reindeer come in to land on a snowy roof. The toymaker works at his bench surrounded by half-finished wooden horses, and the toy shop window glows with dolls and drums and trains. A stag stands among the winter birches. A red fox crosses deep snow. A sheepdog brings the flock in past a drystone wall.
Volume Two is the Santa, animals and buildings book. Where Volume One is quiet and decorative, this one is full of characters and places: twelve animal pages, twelve with Santa and his workshop, twelve buildings, and the village scenes and still lifes that go with them.
These are grayscale designs. The shading is already done. You lay your colour over the top and the greys underneath do the hard work, so a finished page looks rich and dimensional with far less effort than flat line art.
